Bags & Luggage
Whether you want a hard or soft sided suitcase, a carry-on, garment bag or back pack you can find it here. With brands like Samsonite, Delsey, London Fog and High Sierra the choice is yours.
I am often asked which suitcases I recommend. The answer is to buy the best quality you can afford. I have always chosen a more expensive brand and the last suitcase I bought is now 10 years old and still going strong albeit with more than a few scratches. Remember hard sided cases are slash-proof but they aren't any use if you are going travelling on a yacht in the Caribbean or a Turkish gulet in the Mediterranean. You won't have anywhere to store them. Remember if you're going on a cruise that on the last evening you will need to place your suitcase outside your cabin door prior to retiring so make sure you have a suitable overnight/carry-on bag for all your essentials. Remember if you are going on a coach tour your luggage will be restricted. One tour company quotes."One suitcase per person with the dimensions of 30in. x 18in. x 10in. (76cm x 46cm x 25cm) and weight not exceeding 50 lbs (23kg). You can also bring one piece of hand luggage, provided it is small enough to take on the coach and does not have telescope handles." Remember on certain specialised rail journeys the following applies. ""Due to space constraints, guests are advised to take on-board only hand luggage containing the requirements for their rail journey."" Remember a regular suitcase is no good if you're going trekking in the Himalayas. Remember to make sure your luggage is right for your type of journey!
