I have over 40 years of experience working with International Airlines and Travel Agencies and have been travelling internationally since the age of 4.

There are very few countries in the world which I have not visited and I have utilised all forms of transportation from Concorde to Camel!

Buying tickets, getting accommodation , currency visas etc is a lot easier now than in the 1960’s but it seems to me that people still have the same problems deciding what they should take, how much they should take, how they should carry it, and more importantly still forget the essentials.

I often wonder whether some people see airport check-in counters as a place to check their brains. It never ceases to amaze me how many people pack their passports in their suitcases. Another thing that really annoys airlines is some who realise at the departure gate, that the medication that it is vital they take is inside the suitcase that is now loaded with hundreds of others in the aircraft hold.. It can take a long time to offload all the bags to find the right case, supply the medication and then reload all the bags. Remember a large percentage of aircraft delays can be attributed to the thoughtlessness of fellow passengers.
